AS Roma striker Tammy Abraham has insisted he is “in no rush” to return to England after leaving Chelsea last summer.

The England international has come through the ranks at Chelsea, despite barely playing for them before Frank Lampard’s appointment in 2019.

Abraham scored 18 goals in all competitions during his breakthrough season in 2019/20.

The striker was not liked by Thomas Tuchel, as he featured less after the German’s arrival at the start of 2021.

The 24-year-old was released last summer as Roma spent around £34million to bring him to Serie A.

This decision was made by Abraham, as he scored 27 goals in 53 appearances in all competitions last season.

He will be keen to maintain this form next season to secure a place in Gareth Southgate’s squad for this winter’s World Cup in Qatar.

Speaking on his decision to leave Chelsea, he insisted he never regretted the decision:

“Never [have I regretted leaving], not even for a second. Choosing Roma was one of the right decisions I made in my life,” Abraham said (via Soccer Italy).

Abraham has been linked with a move away from Roma in recent months but claimed he was ‘exclusively focused’ on the upcoming season in Italy:

“Believe me: I’m not thinking about the future, but about the present. I’m concentrating exclusively on the season that is about to start, because I want it to be even more rewarding than the first one I experienced in Italy.

“The first day I arrived in Rome, I felt at home. I’m in no rush to get back to the Premier League because I can express my way of playing here. In Italy, I feel happy in every way.

Romelu Lukaku has also secured a move to Italy this summer. He returned to Inter Milan on loan after struggling in his debut season at Chelsea in 2021/22.

Serie A side pay £10.4m loan fee to Chelsea, and Lukaku has previously said he’s ‘so happy’ to be back at the club.

The Belgium international is currently training ahead of Inter Milan’s first Serie A game of the 2022/23 campaign on August 13.

Lukaku posted a photo on instagram Friday, showing that his Inter team-mates have a joke at his expense in training.
