The 28-year-old joined the Hammers on a season-long loan from Paris Saint-Germain this summer.
And West Ham has the option of signing Areola permanently for around £ 11million next summer (Wyn Foot).
The Frenchman had a fabulous start to life at London Stadium.
Four appearances and four clean sheets so far for the Hammers is quite a record.
He will undoubtedly be our number one goalie next season. Until then, however, Areola will have to bide his time with Lukasz Fabianski currently the number one stopper in Moyes’ eyes.
David Moyes claims Alphonse Areola
The 6-foot-5 goalkeeper put in a pretty incredible performance against Man City.
Areola’s amazing warm-up routine:
The 28-year-old was cool and calm with the ball at his feet, reassuring and dominant in the air and made some brilliant saves showcasing his incredible reflexes.
And Moyes told Football.London how he thought Areola put in his best performance yet for West Ham on Wednesday night:
“Well what we saw the other night was why we brought him in because we knew the number of games we were going to have, whether it was European games, cup games or championship games, we will always need good competition. And I think I have two No.1s, that keeps Lukasz on his toes and I have someone who is in good shape and ready to play. And like everyone who comes to a club sometimes, even though Areola has had experience with Fulham, I still think it takes a bit of time to settle down. I thought the other night was his best game for us and he certainly helped us through it and into the next round. “
Areola certainly claimed a starting place against Aston Villa on Sunday.
Moyes will likely persist with Lukasz Fabianski, but it won’t be long before the Frenchman usurps the Pole.

Moyes is clearly very happy with the start of Areola’s life in East London. And we can be sure we know that we have a very competent pair of hands to come in as Moyes decides to give Fab a break.
