Di’Shon Bernard has been an impressive addition to the Hull City squad in the early weeks of the Championship season.
The 20-year-old defender is on loan from Manchester United for the season as he looks to build on a solid season at Salford City last season.
After starting the campaign on the bench, Bernard made his league debut in the 2-0 loss to Fulham before resting against Sheffield United with the return of Alfie Jones and then the midweek draw with Blackpool.
Bernard was back in the squad against Middlesbrough on Saturday and delivered a dominant performance alongside Jacob Greaves, winning the man of the match award as City claimed a crucial first home victory of the campaign.
Bernard was so impressive that fans were unhappy with his omission from the Championship’s Team of the Week on Monday, and he revealed his joy at playing his part in a meaningful victory for Grant McCann’s side.

“Great performance from all the boys,” Bernard wrote on Twitter. “Let’s start from now. “
Bernard will be hoping to keep his place in McCann’s starting XI when the Tigers return to Huddersfield Town on Saturday week.
Fans were quick to congratulate the United player and express their frustration at being left out of the Team of the Week.
