Alan Hutton has advised Malik Tillman to “flourish” for Rangers this season.
Addressed exclusively to Football Insiderthe former Gers defender says fans should trust what Julian Nagelsmann saw in Tillman at Bayern Munich.
As Football Scotland reported (July 24), the 20-year-old was shortlisted for the Golden Boy young player award.
The midfielder made the cut as the roster was reduced to 80 players.
Tillman made his league debut for Gers in a 2-1 win over Livingston on Saturday July 30.
He joined Rangers from Bayern Munich on a season-long loan this summer.
Asked by Football Insider for his thoughts on Tillman, Hutton said, “I can only talk about what I saw, and that’s not much right now.
“Of course you can see he has technical ability, he is quite comfortable with the ball, Julian Nagelsmann at Bayern Munich obviously saw something in him so you have to trust what he saw so far.
“I can’t wait to see what he brings. He hasn’t had many minutes so far. We know the Scottish league and how demanding it is with cup games, Europe and all.
“He will be needed, so I can’t wait to see how he thrives at Rangers.
“There will be pressure from him to perform on his own and probably from the outside as well. So we’ll see how he handles all of this.“
In other news, a pundit has suggested Rangers could clear Glen Kamara out on one condition after the manager’s revelation.
