Everton wouldn’t be in a financial position to go out and spend £20m to tackle four or five areas this summer.
According to Sky Sports reporter Ben Grounds, Frank Lampard will be looking to use the loan market and his contacts at Chelsea to secure deals.
It’s also understood that he won’t be limiting his search based on fan approval either.
Via his personal Twitter account, Grounds wrote: “Everton are not in a position where they can shell out over £20m on around 4/5 areas that need improvement so using the loan market and Chelsea contacts is certainly a avenue that Lampard will explore. He also won’t limit his search based on fan approval.
We won’t be surprised if Lampard turns to Chelsea to sign one or two of his players on loan and it won’t be the worst thing in the world.
They have one of the best academies in Europe and are constantly sending their youngsters and fringe players out on loan to develop.
He could also use his personal relationships with the players and that could get some offers down the line.
Everton remain in a financial crisis but they can’t do with Lampard what they did with Rafa Benitez last summer and give him nothing to spend.
Rebuilding this squad isn’t going to be easy as it is but without any funds it becomes next to impossible and another manager could lose his job due to the club’s malfunctioning.
In other Everton news, the Toffees have submitted a bid to seal a major summer signing and the player is already on his way to England.
